Willow Hilson is a carefully curated vintage boutique located in Devon, UK. Originally opening its doors as ‘Relevant’ in 2011, the shop has bloomed into an elegant boutique, showcasing exquisite, hand selected garments from throughout the decades.
So who is Willow Hilson? Born in London, much of Willow’s early childhood was spent in Indonesia, where her love of culture and textiles began. It was here that she was first introduced to local markets, admiring her mother purchasing textiles that would later be transformed into beautiful dresses.
After a few brief years in London, the majority of her teens were spent in Singapore. Studying at the French, and then International School, Willow specialised in Arts & Languages. It was here that her talent for the arts was first recognised, securing a place at Saint Martins Art School in London, she returned to the UK to study performance, design and practice, focusing on costume.
With an ever-growing love of textiles and culture, it was then that Willow decided to move to Devon. Longing to be part of the community, Willow has established great friendships with her customers, pairing them with her beautiful products and joining them on their journey together.
From the name of the brand, to the running of the social media, Willow is at the heart of it all. If she isn’t in the shop, you will probably find her treasure hunting at flea markets, embracing vintage fashion and allowing true pieces of history to be given life once more.
