Rendered in the most incredible shade of maroon red silk velvet, this original 1930's blouse, accented by intricate silk velvet piped details and majestic silk velvet pleating, is a rare piece to behold.
The bateau cut neckline, is framed by a border of five rows of piping in matching silk velvet, these contour the front of the neckline and nape, framing the button and loop fastening, and join the shoulder line, to run along the length of each sleeve. The dolman cut of the sleeves, draws the eye to the wonderful pleats that drape from either side of the central piping feature, setting off the bishop cut of the sleeves, which draw in along the wide fitted cuffs. The wonderful blouson cut of the blouse is accented by a pleated bust line, radiating from the pleats that gather beneath the piped details along the shoulder line and neckline. The rounded seam below the bust, sets off the elegant draped hemline of the blouse. Finished with a large central key hole detail along the back, this truly mesmerising piece is sure to be a favourite in your vintage collection.

Condition: This blouse is in near perfect vintage condition. Natural and light impression marks to the silk velvet throughout. This is a natural process for silk velvet. There appears to be a small seam mend along the front left hand side of the hemline. Light and natural wear to the edges of the fastening areas where the silk velvet has worn a little thin from use of the button along the nape. These minor issues and details are in no way apparent when the blouse is being worn. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
