A beauty to behold. This original 1940's pink silk dress, embellished with trailing silk threaded soutache embroidery depicting blossoming flowers, surrounded by pearlescent beaded details and finished with silver claw set rhinestones along the neckline, is the perfect piece for that special occasion.
The rounded neckline of the dress draws in along the centre front with a hook and eye, setting off the rounded keyhole feature. The edges of the neckline are accented by a border of pearlescent beads, which are in turn framed by soutache embroidery and silver claw set rhinestone details. The simple shoulder line, is set off by internally sewn shoulder pads, which accent the short length sleeves. The elegant fitted bodice, is set off by double tailored darts along the bust-line. The cinched in waistline is set off by a matching silk belt, which draws together beneath a silk covered buckle. The panelled cut skirt, boasts a bias cut, which allows for the silk to drape elegantly along the silhouette, to set off the near full circle cut hemline.

Closures: This dress fastens along the front of the neckline with a hook and eye, along the nape with a button and loop and along the side seam with an 11.5 inch metal zip.
Condition: This dress is in perfect vintage condition. Very gentle surface wear to the finish along the pearlescent beads. Light and gentle wear to the silk edges of the buckle. These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
